Take it from someone who recently spent ten years working in a very different part of the country: New England has a rich sports history. From Bobby Orr scoring “The Goal” in 1970 to Adam Vinatieri’s field goal in Super Bowl XXXVI to current legends like David “Big Papi” Ortiz and… how about Sunday’s incredible Tom Brady Super Bowl dramatics.
New England has a sports scene that few other regions can compare.
This coming June, the next chapter in New England’s sports history will be written as the U.S. Senior Open returns to historic Salem Country Club, and it is an honor and a privilege to be a part of this national championship.
Fred Couples. Tom Watson, John Daly. Davis Love III. All of your all-time favorite golfers will be competing for this coveted National Championship in Peabody, MA. Will Tom Watson cap off a storybook career with a win at Salem? Can Bernhard Langer solidify his status as one of the most decorated players in senior golf history? Will Fred Couples win his first major championship in four years?
What we do know is that in 2017 the stars will once again align in Peabody as history returns to Salem. Having worked in golf for almost 40 years, I have been blessed to have worked at and attended some of the finest golf events in the world.
This historic championship will once again provide sports fans an opportunity to see the world’s best golfers up close, and inspire many to play more golf or take up this wonderful game that we all share a passion for.
Don’t miss your chance to witness history in the making at Salem Country Club. Tickets for this once in a generation event are on sale now. Want to get close to the action? Sign up to be one of volunteers to get a up close and behind the scenes look at this National Championship.
